Edward B. Gindelberger, 86, formerly of Osceola, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in Dayton, OH after an illness. Edward was born August 23, 1931 in South Bend to Francis Wayne and Margret (Blechschmidt) Gindelberger. He moved to Osceola at an early age. Edward graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1949. On December 27, 1952, in Osceola, he married Eleanor (Draper) Gindelberger, who preceded him in death on April 26, 2015. Edward has two sons, Brent (Rene') and Todd (RaeJean), both of Dayton OH, as well as three grandsons, Phillip, Caleb, and Tyler. He is also survived by brothers Dr. Donald (Joan) Gindelberger of St. Louis, MO and Thomas (Stephanie) Cripe of Elkhart. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Dorothy Gindelberger; brother, Clifton Cripe and sister, Beverly Cripe. Edward proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1951-53. He was a commercial artist for over 40 years, working for Jones & Taylor Advertising in South Bend and as a freelancer. Edward and Eleanor led the Methodist Youth Fellowship of the Osceola Methodist Church for several years. The family wishes to thank Dr. James Derksen for his many years of caring for Dad. Dad will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Saturday December 16, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. where friends may call Saturday from 10-12.
