Edward Douglas Toombs, 81, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Mishawaka, went home to be with the Lord at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.  Edward was born on November 14, 1936 to the late Menno Wilson and Ida Mae (Douglas) Toombs in Anderson, Indiana.  He was a graduate of Mishawaka High School in 1955 and went on to earn his Accounting degree. Edward was an Accountant with Uniroyal for many years.  On May 24, 1958, Edward married Carolyn Stafford and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2013.

Edward was a member of the Osceola United Methodist Church for several years, participating in the Men's Club.  After moving to Arizona, he became active in the church there having participated in the Sonshiner's Club.  He enjoyed fishing and collecting coins.

Edward is survived by his children, Douglas (Karen) Toombs of White Pigeon, MI, Russell (Darlyne) Toombs of Granger, and Steve (Maria) Toombs of Mishawaka; his second wife, Angela Hanson; her children, Tim Hanson of Sierra Vista, AZ, Allen (Tina) Hanson of Elgin, OK, and Heather Hanson of San Antonio, TX; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn; and two sisters, Rosa Lee Dunning and Linda Sandefur.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561.  Pastor Leroy Wise will officiate the 10 AM funeral service on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Osceola United Methodist Church, 431 North Beech Road, Osceola, IN 46561.  Interment will follow in the Garden of Liberty on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.  In his memory, donations may be made to the Osceola United Methodist Church Building Fund or Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, National Processing Center, Attn: Honor and Memorial Gifts, PO Box 1245, Albert Lea, MN 56007.
