Obituary

Eleanor R. Gindelberger, formerly of Osceola, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton (Ohio) after a brief illness. Eleanor was born April 4,1933 in New Carlisle, IN to Randal and Sophia Lorene (Brothers) Draper. She moved to Osceola at an early age. Eleanor graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1951. On December 27, 1952, in Osceola, she married Edward Gindelberger, who survives her. Eleanor had two sons, Brent (Rene') and Todd (RaeJean), both of Dayton OH, as well as three grandsons, Phillip, Caleb, and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Ethel Robinson and brother-in-law Kennedy Robinson. Eleanor was the office manager for Sippel Equipment Corporation in South Bend for over 25 years. Prior to that, she worked for several years at The Bendix Corporation in Mishawaka. She was a well-known cake decorator and teacher of cake decorating classes. She was an accomplished seamstress, frequently making clothes for her family. She was a longtime Den Mother and Den Leader Coach for Cub Pack 122. Eleanor and Edward led the Methodist Youth Fellowship of the Osceola Methodist Church for several years. The family wishes to thank Dr. James Derksen and visiting nurse Lori Baker for their many years of caring for her. Appreciation to Hospice of Dayton for their care during the last few days of her life. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Services 2:00 Saturday May 2, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Saturday from 12-2. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
