Eleanor J. Wise, age 90, of South Bend, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her home. Eleanor was born February 5, 1924 in Clinton, Indiana to the late Kenneth E. and Iva J. (Beatty) Scott.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald G. (Nancy) Wise of South Bend, and Roger L. (Janet) Wise of Winter Haven, Florida. Also surviving is her sister, Billie Jean (Leon) Wiggins of South Bend and 6 grandchildren; Brian Wise, Robert (Lisa) Wise, Josh (Dondi) Wise, Holly (Randy) Ross, Scott (Stephenie) Johnson, and Jennifer (David) Pierson. 17 great grandchildren survive as well.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, with Pastor Ed Erskine officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Eleanor was employed for 39 years in management at Bonnie Doon''s Drive In, South Bend. She enjoyed doing fill in book, and puzzles, and loved watching baseball. She also loved to read books about the Old West, and watch Western movies on TV.
In her memory, donations may be made to the Northway Church of Christ, of which she was a long time member.
