Ellsworth "Lefty" Antrup, age 85 of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Mishawaka. Lefty was born January 23, 1928 in Gettysburg, South Dakota to the late Clarence and Anna (Novy) Antrup. Following graduation from Freemont High School, Lefty married Mary Lou Schaffer on November 8, 1947.
Mary Lou survives, along with their son, Lee A. (Gail) Antrup of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Also surviving are his siblings, Edward (Alda) Antrup of Pleasant Lake, Indiana and Donna Budd of Coldwater, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles Antrup and Lester Antrup and his sisters Jennie Flansburg, Annabelle Comstock, Helen Myers, Opal Hassett, and Shirley Stultz.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior (2-4 pm) to the 4:00 pm funeral service on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Twin Branch Bible Church, 3807 Vistula Road Mishawaka, IN 46544. Rev. Daniel Boes will officiate the funeral service on Sunday and interment will be held at 10 am Monday, June 3, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.
Lefty was employed for many years as a carpenter with Corlett Lumber in Mishawaka, retiring at the age of 64. He was a longtime member of Twin Branch Bible Church, where he was an avid supporter Missions. Lefty enjoyed working puzzles, and enjoyed doing handyman work around his house, and for families at the Church.
