Elva Margaret Franks, age 98; born January 1, 1927 died May 9, 2025 while in the care of Harmony of Elkhart and Heartland Hospice Care.

Elva was born on January 1, 1927 in Tishomingo Oklahoma to William "Mack" Fountain and Alice Alberta (Vail) McGuyre. She married Horace Bascom Franks on May 22, 1942 in Manila Arkansas. Horace preceded her in death on February 9, 2002. Also preceding in death are 2 brothers: James Thomas "JT" McGuyre, William McGuyre Jr. and 7 sisters; Twins Adean and Idel (died shortly after birth), Bobbie Jean Kersey, Velta Lorraine Stroder, Shirley Pauline Jenkins, Mary Ileene McGuyre and Georgie LouElla Bowen. Also preceded in death are 2 Grandsons: Andrew Walker Yoder and Cody Martin Franks.

Elva is survived by 2 sons; Horace "Butch" Franks Jr of South Bend and Lonnie (Terina) Franks of Middlebury; 3 daughters, Margaret Ann (Gary) Ostrander of Elkhart, Patricia Sue (David) Boner of Mishawaka and Mary Lou (Steve) Troup of Milford; 12 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren.

After many years of service Elva retired from Miles Laboratories. She and Horace spent their retirement traveling all over the country in their 5TH wheel camper; camping, fishing and visiting relatives. Elva also enjoyed opportunities that took her to faraway places like Hawaii, a Western Caribbean cruise, Central America, Canada and Germany with family. A few other favorite past-times were crocheting, knitting, reading, bird watching and other wildlife from her backyard. And of course she cherished her time with her family.

Visitation will be Thursday May 15 at 10:00am, service at 12:00, burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Services will be performed by Chaplin Arnell McCoy.
