Obituary

Elza O. (Dag) Davis, 92, of Bristol, died Wednesday October 3, 2018. The Wauseon OH native was born in Napoleon OH on August 24, 1926 to (the late) Elza O. and Lillian (Noaker) Davis. Dag was a WWII veteran of the US Navy, serving as a cook aboard the USS Sibboney. In Wauseon, he was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He was the owner of Davis Shell Service in Wauseon OH for many years before moving to the Elkhart/Bristol area in the mid-'70s. Although retired, Dag enjoyed and continued to work at a local car dealership. He also enjoyed gardening, yardwork and cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Davis; son-in-law, Jeff Graffice; step-daughter, Jackie Markly; step-son, Patrick Riggs; brothers, Harold, Clifford, Lester, Chester, Carl, Leonard, Robert, Russell and Wayne Davis, and his sister, Elsie Christy. Dag is survived by his daughters; Patricia Graffice of Wauseon OH and Darline O'Leary of Bristol; step-daughter, Charlotte Reel in Missouri, grandchildren; Jordan and Myra Graffice and Christopher O'Leary; 8 step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday October 8, 2018 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call on Monday from 1-2pm in the funeral home. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A reception in the funeral home for an additional hour will immediately follow the burial to allow more time to visit with family & friends. For those who prefer donations in lieu of flowers, the family prefers the donor's choice of organizations.
