MISHAWAKA, IN- Eric C. Helge, age 51, passed away at St. Joseph Regional on February 11, 2019.

He was born November 12, 1967 in Gary, Indiana to the late Maurice Helge and Paricia (Tapp) Byers. Eric was a 1988 graduate from Portage High School. On November 4, 1990 Eric was united with the love of his life Laura Hale and seven years later they married on October 31, 1997. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mishawaka. Eric enjoyed music, camping, playing basketball and softball, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Eric is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Laura Helge of Mishawaka, IN; children, Keith (Kate) Hale of South Bend, IN, Koriann Hale of Mishawaka, IN, Kaylee (Dale) Craft of Mishawaka, IN and Bradley Howe of Edwardsburg, MI; grandchildren, Keegan Hale and Karlton Tennant; sisters, Debbie Serrato of Portage, IN, Leah (Gene) Smith of Portage, IN, Traci O'Hara of South Bend, IN, and Erin Lee of Portage, IN; brother, Mike Helge of Mishawaka, IN; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ranone Byers and Mark Helge.

Funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 Mckinley Hwy., Osceola, IN. Friends may call Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
