Obituary

Erma V. Mahler, 89, formerly of Mishawaka, died Saturday in Three Rivers, Michigan. The South Bend native was born September 9, 1924 to Baziel & Emily (Talboon) Vlaeminck. Erma retired from Taylor Products after 32 years of employment and was a member of the Ladies'' Auxiliaries of the V.F.W.; D.A.V.; American Legion; AMVETS and the Ladies of the Moose. She was active in the Harvest Basket and also Friendly Pioneers, both in Elkhart and she also enjoyed fishing & hunting. Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Richard Mahler; infant son David; grandchildren, Stacey Alwine and Dean & Richard Brogdon. Erma is survived by her son, William (Cheryl) Rouch of Three Rivers, MI; daughters, Barbara Brogdon of Mishawaka; Sharon (James) Scanlon of Washington, PA; Donna (Fred) Lightner of Elkhart; her brother, Julius (Donna) Vlaeminck of Elkhart; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 1:00pm Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call 4-8pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family''s preferred memorial is Harvest Basket Senior Food Program, 24197 CR16 East, Elkhart, IN 46516.
