Ernest F. Brown, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in Mishawaka. Ernest was born February 14, 1925 to the late Harrison & Jessie Brown in Kalkaska County, MI. Ernest was wed to Marjorie Sisson on October 6, 1956. Together, Ernest & Marjorie celebrated 61 years of marriage. Mr. Brown was an active member of the Church of Christ in Mishawaka. He was dedicated to his faith and his love of the Lord. Ernest enjoyed taking photos & documenting family events. He also loved to garden, lend a hand to organize family reunions, and traveling to Fort Meade, FL during the winter months. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler, liked to roller skate, and played many games of euchre. He would give the shirt off his back to help a friend, stranger, or neighbor in need. Ernest's family recounts a time of him giving a man his own gloves in the winter to stay warm. Selfless and dedicated, Ernest was a gentle soul and will be missed dearly. Ernest is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Brown; daughter, Nancy Haywood; son, Michael (Debbie) Brown; sister, Ruby VanGorton, and grandchildren, Amanda (Nathan) Haywood Barbee and Austin Haywood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Haywood;brothers, Robert, Elmer, James, and Charles Brown and sisters, Ruth Ingersol, Gertrude Birk and Edith Thornton. Visitation for Mr. Brown will be held on Tuesday, May 29 ^th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located at 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN. Funeral service for Mr. Brown will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 30th at the funeral home with Steve Smith presiding.
