Ernest Jesus Salinas Molina, 93, of South Bend Indiana passed away peacefully in his home on April 23, 2024.
Ernest was born to Elberta Salinas Molina and Guillermo Gonzalez Molina in Los Nietos, CA in November of 1930.
Ernest joined the Army and served his country during the Korean War. After completing his service, he moved from California to Indiana where he met and fell in love with his wife, Vera Elaine (Edmonson) Molina. They resided in a small house in Riverpark where they made a home with their six children.
Ernest worked most of his life doing maintenance and odd jobs until he found a position at AM General where he retired in the 1990's. After his retirement he took pleasure in gardening, fishing, gambling, and taking family vacations.
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife Vera Molina, son Ernest Molina Jr., daughter Kimberly K Oles, and siblings Nelly Ponzio, John Molina, Alex Molina, Willie Molina, and Jesse Molina. He is survived by his siblings Lydia De Leon and Joe Molina, children Arthur Molina, Richard Molina, Vera Vibbert, Tim Middleton, and Denny Middleton and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, May 06, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, located at 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana 46561 with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial with military honors shall be held in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens following the service.
