Ernest Simon Sr. 75, of Elkhart, IN passed away on January 12, 2021 in Marion, IN.  He was born on May 15, 1945 to the late Robert James Sr. and Ruby (Conklin) Simon in Catron, Missouri. Ernest served in the United States Army from June 1965-1968.  He married Violet A. (Tyler-Smith) Simon on July 14, 1978, she survives.

In addition to his parent's he was preceded in death by his children David Eugene Simon, Lisa L. Simon; his siblings Jerry, George, Elbert Pugh, Alberta Morris and Juanita Simon.

Surviving children, Earnest Simon, Jr, Christopher D. Simon, Miriam L. Simon, Earnest G, Holliday, Norman L. Wilson and Michelle L. Anderson.

He is survived by his wife Violet; siblings Robert Sr. (Dorothy), Dollie Pledger, Geneva (Bennie Sr) Shaw a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit on Wednesday January 20, 2021 from 5PM-7PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy Osceola, IN 46561.  Funeral services will be held privately due to Covid restrictions.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.  Chapel Hill is honored to serve the family.
