Eugene Fergison, Jr., 89, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:05 am, Monday, April 12, 2010 in Eastlake Nursing Home, Elkhart. Eugene was born on June 10, 1920 in Elkhart to the late Eugene and Netti (Weaver) Fergison. On July 24, 1971, he married Ruth Lorraine Arter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine of Elkhart, daughter, Judy and Jerry Duck of Edwardsburg, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, step son, David Simonson; four brothers, Tobias, Rueben, Edward and Leroy and four sisters, Amanda Leer., Mary Swarm, Ethel Signs, and Maxine Harris.
Eugene was proudly served his country and retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service in 1966. He was a lifetime member of the Elkhart D.A.V. Chapter 19.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 15, 2010 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Rev. Steve Reschan, pastor of Augustana Lutheran Church, will officiate.
