Eugene Allen Sherrill was chosen by God our Heavenly Father to live with Him in Heaven on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the age of 76. He was called to Heaven at Saint Joseph Regional Medical center and his loved ones had been with him in person and on the cell phone.
Eugene was born in Alturas, California on December 22, 1946 to Eugene Allen Sherrill and Helen Alfreda (Schmuck) Sherrill who preceded him in death.
After graduating from Penn High school he became a Journeyman Wood Patternmaker and retired from the trade in 2009. On September 4, 1964 he married Karen Sue Gropp. As a member of the First Baptist Church in Mishawaka, he served as a Youth Sponsor, Trustee, Moderator and worked in the AWANA and Vacation Bible School ministries. He enjoyed riding his bike and helping the neighbors and friends when they needed it,
Surviving family members to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen, two children, Nancy (Tom) Savage of Pensacola, FL and Brian Sherrill of Mishawaka. He has three granddaughters, Alyssa, Sydney and Emily Savage of Pensacola, FL. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending with them.
Also surviving are two sisters, Patricia Ann Holderman of Bremen, IN and Patricia Jean Emigh and one brother, Richard (Kathi) Sherrill of MI.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Sherrill and two sisters, Virginia Berg, Betty Daniels and a brother-in-law, Paul Holderman.
There will be no visitation or service. Memorial Contributions may be given to First Baptist Church of Mishawaka, IN
