Obituary

Eura A. Melton, 86, of Granger, died Monday May 26, 2014. The Waterloo, AL native was born June 23, 1927 to Arthur R. & Addie L. (Murphy) Melton. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and on April 9, 1955, he married Delores H. Sibo in Valparaiso. Eura was a member of the American Legion, Post #50, the VFW Post #9820 in South Bend and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2083 in Mishawaka. He retired as a Supervisor from Bendix in 1982 after 35 years of employment but continued to work, first at Norwest Bank for another 13 years and finally with Spectrum Pharmacy in Mishawaka.

Eura was preceded in death by his grandson, Anthony Scott, and infant granddaughters Michele Harmer and Tabitha Scott. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Delores Melton; his children, Christine (Bill) Heavner in Ohio, Geraldine (William) Frame of South Bend, Michael Melton of Plymouth, Betty (Randy) Aitken of Mishawaka, and Carol (Craig) Stockbridge, Judy (Kenneth) Berndt and Eugene (Michele) Melton, all of South Bend; brothers, Dewey (Beverly) Melton of Warsaw and Pete Melton, serving in the US Navy; sisters, Mattie Bea (Hollis) Lard of Waterloo, AL, Christine Killen of Florence, AL; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services 2:00 Saturday May 31, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Friday from 4-8pm in the funeral Home. Burial with military honors in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. You may sign the guestbook or leave condolences in this online guestbook.
