Evelyn L. Deal-Speake
July 15, 1952 - May 24, 2017

SOUTH BEND- Evelyn L. Deal-Speake, 64, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in South Bend. Evelyn was born on July 15, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Leo Beam and Sally (Kyle) Cox. On March 28, 2014, she married Johnny Speake. Evelyn retired after thirteen years from School City of Mishawaka as the Food Source Manager.
Evelyn and her husband, Johnny, spent half of the year in Bithlo, Florida where they were members of the Lockwood Missionary Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook, loved to play Bingo, was never without music in her daily life, and enjoyed going to the casino where she always walked away a winner. She always seemed to have luck on her side.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn is survived by her son, Richard (Kim) O''Connell of South Bend, IN; step-sons, John (Jackie) Speake of Elkhart, IN, Jimmy (Kim) Speake of Mishawaka, IN; daughters, Mistine (Sam) Green of Mishawaka, IN, Darcia (Zach Sargent) Salazar of Chandler, AZ, Michelle (Jimmy) Judd of Niles, MI, Danialle (Robert) Flannery of South Bend, IN; brothers, Leo (Donna) Beam of Mishawaka, IN, Mark (Ruth) Beam of South Bend, IN; sister, Victoria Barrier of South Bend, IN, eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Clemente Salazar and her grandson, Bentley Flannery.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, June 2, 2017, 6:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola with Rev. Dr. Michael Cramer of New Life Church officiating.
