Evelyn Fishburn, 94, passed away on June 5, 2012 in East Lansing, MI. She was born on April 6, 1918 in Mishawaka, Indiana to William and Pearl Hoover.
Evelyn and Robert raised their family in St. Joseph, MI and spent their latter years in South Bend, IN where she worked in Insurance until 72 years old. Mom spent her last days at Marsh Point and Burcham Hills Retirement Community of Haslett, MI, where she loved the staff there. She loved when her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1988; sisters, Ruby Saltsgiver, Elaine Wagner; brothers, Eugene and William Hoover. She is survived by her daughters; Jeanette (Kenneth) Achterberg, of Haslett, MI, Sharon (Bryan) Nafrady of Bremen, and sons; Douglas (Diane) Fishburn of St. Joseph, MI and Robert Fishburn of Allegan, MI; 8 grandchildren, Scott Fishburn, Lisa Crowder, Julie Achterberg, Krista Blosser, Amy Pottgieser, Tara Towner, Tony Nafrady and Nicole Nafrady and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, IN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Burcham Hills Foundation, 2700 Burcham Drive, East Lansing, MI 48823, in Evelyn''s memory.
