Evelyn J. Searer, 93, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Hubbard Hill. Born in Mishawaka on July 22, 1917 to Jacob H. & Anna Belle (Edwards) Snyder, she was a graduate of Mishawaka High School and married Vernon A. Searer on February 28, 1936. Evelyn retired in 1983 as a Bookkeeper at Ultra-Fab Products. She was a very active member of the Residents Council at Hubbard Hill and served as Hostess for new residents. Survivors include her daughter, Linda L. Cottrell of Osceola; her sons, Larry D. (Dora) Searer of Elkhart; Darryl (Judy) Searer of Niles, MI; Glenn (Bonnie) Searer of Elkhart and Craig A. (Lannette) Searer of Elkhart; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon; daughter, Sharon; 3 grandsons and 5 brothers & sisters. Funeral Services 2:00PM Monday, August 2, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family''s preferred memorial is the Chapel at Hubbard Hill.
