Obituary

Farrell D. Hogue, 81, of Osceola, died Friday June 23, 2017 in St. Joseph Medical Center. The Kennett MO native was born February 25, 1936 to Lester D. & Willie (Key) Hogue. Nicknamed "Fako" in school, he graduated from Mishawaka High School with the Class of ''54. He served his country proudly as a veteran of the US Army. Later nicknamed "Hoagy" by family & friends, he married Janet (Keck) in Elkhart on March 19, 1960, who survives after 57 years of marriage. Hoagy retired from Uniroyal after 35 years of employment and then went to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, where he assisted with grounds & maintenance and remained a fixture there until his retirement earlier this year. He was a member of St. Mark''s Missionary Church; he was an avid fan of the Cubs, Notre Dame & Penn High School football and enjoyed his Friday breakfasts with the gang at the OC Caf. Hoagy is survived by his wife Jan Hogue and their children, Robert Hogue of Osceola and Julie (Jody Eby) Kealy of South Bend; grandchildren, Sara Kealy of Mishawaka, Jessica (Michael Biesenbach) Kealy of Granger, Kayla (Adam Hack) Eby of Mishawaka, Brittany Hogue of Koontz Lake, Kyle Eby of Mishawaka and Troy Hogue of Osceola; great-grandchildren, Cadence & Braxton Biesenbach; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Hogue of Mishawaka; sisters-in-law, Connie Hogue of Osceola, Julia Simons of Wakarusa & Linda Alicea of Fishers. Also surviving is Pat Kealy of Granger. Hoagy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Darrell Hogue and sisters-in-law, Margie Hogue & Carol Lipps. Funeral Services 2:00 Tuesday June 27, 2017 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy where friends may call from 1-2 pm. Calling also Monday 4-8pm in the funeral home. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family''s preferred memorial is St. Mark''s Missionary Church Building Project, 55240 Bittersweet Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
