ELKHART- Florence Aldrich 103, passed away Monday afternoon at Eastlake Terrace assisted living. Florence graduated from Bristol High School with the class of 1932. She was born to William and Lulu (Weaver)Schieber in New Washington Ohio. She later moved to the Michiana area, where she met the love of her life, Army Sgt. Edward Aldrich. They married in 1954 and Florence served beside her husband as a military wife for nearly twenty years. During that time the two traveled Europe extensively. After Edward retired from the Army, the couple moved to Osceola where they resided for almost 5 decades. Florence was employed by Imperial Fabrics as a seamstress for thirty-four years and then went on to retire from R.B. Gustafson''s at the young age of ninety-one. She will be remembered for her beautiful yard and gardens and her quality sewing. Florence loved being a grandmother and for the last couple of years spending quality time with and adoring her great-grandchild Teagan whom she doted on. She was an extremely "spunky" lady who will be missed greatly. Florence is survived by daughter Barbara (Ed) Wenger, granddaughter Keri (Ryan) Vest, grandson Daniel Hargrove, and great granddaughter Teagan. Also surviving are grandson Wayne (Jenny) Wenger and his children Chad, Cameron, Benjamin and Jaxon, She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, great-grandson Thomas, and sisters Violet Juday and Edna Dull. A gathering of friends and family will be Friday February 19, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola, IN from 5:00pm - 6:00pm with a funeral service immediately following starting at 6:00pm with close family friend Becky Baker officiating there will be a private burial at a later date. The families preferred memorial contribution may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County 102 W Lincoln Ave #240, Goshen, IN 46526 in Florence''s memory.
