Frances E. Nowicki, age 89, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at St. Paul''s Retirement Center in South Bend of natural causes. Frances was born February 28, 1920 in Mishawaka to the late George and Frances (Tuski) Tubicsak. Frances was married to Keith Nowicki for many years, until his passing in July of 1992.
She is survived by her son, Tom Nowicki and his wife Sharon of Las Vegas, Nevada, and three grandchildren, Scott (Debbie) Nowicki, Rob (Amy) Nowicki, and Michelle Nowicki, as well as six great grandchildren; Justin, Dominic, Dallis, Tyler, Monica, and Jessica Nowicki. Frances was preceded in death by her brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, Indiana. A Rosary will be held immediately following the visitation service at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 25, 2009 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, and interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Frances and her husband owned K&F Food Market in South Bend for many years. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her friends. One of her favorite pastimes was taking long drives in the country to see the beauty of nature. Her memberships include St. Matthew''s Catholic Church in South Bend, and attending Mass at St. Paul''s Retirement Home.
In her memory, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
