Garnet Caldwell, born in the back hills of Salyersville, Kentucky, residing in Mishawaka, In. left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior after a sudden and unexpected life event. She passed away in hospice/ comfort care at I.U. Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, In.
Garnet is survived by daughters Deborah Davis Seever, Austin, In; Barbara (Jeff) Williams, Osceola, In; Tharesa (Jerry)Bentley, Mishawaka, In and son Kelly (Anna) Davis, Kewanna, In. Several sisters, Mona Leiter, Lola (Bruce) Kennicott, Barbara Caldwell, Teresa (Bill) Brownfield, Sherry Caldwell and Angela Jackson. Brothers are Clayton (Ivy) Caldwell, Ransom Caldwell, Sherl (Kammy) Caldwell, Kenneth Caldwell, Verlin Jr (Barbara) Caldwell, Danny (Monica) Caldwell, Allen (Debbie) Caldwell and Clifford Caldwell.
Garnet has 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffery, Shaun, Ashley, Amber, Brandon, Annie, Kellie, Tina, Kimberly, Michelle, Ronnie, Sylvia, Neilah and 13 great grand children.
Garnet is preceded in death by her father, Verlin Caldwell and her mother Roxie (Patton) Caldwell Short. Her beloved son Michael Davis also preceded her in death, whom we know was waiting for her at the Gates of Heaven.
Garnet was a true Notre Dame fan and was employed on the campus in house keeping. She loved Nascar and Elvis. Elvis was her man. She enjoyed watching the deer and feeding them bread, fruits and veggies, even when told not to feed the animals. She never met a dog she didn't like and was a staunch supporter of the ASPCA.
God and family were very important to her. She was truly the glue that held the family together. Our mother gave us the best part of her and we will carry her whit, determination, compassion and curiosity within us. She will be missed greatly by all her family and many, many friends that she made during the 81 years on this earth.
Visitation and service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, In. Pastor Jeff Little will be officiating the service. Visitation is 12 pm to 1:30 pm with service immediately following. Internment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
