Garry L. Stump, 56, of Elkhart died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 1, 2014, surrounded by his family. The Mishawaka native was born July 24, 1957 to Raymond V. & Lola (Dawson) Stump. Garry attended Penn High School and was a US Army veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, NC. He was employed at United Roll Forming, Inc. and enjoyed NASCAR as an avid fan of #24, Jeff Gordon. Garry also enjoyed tending to his yard with his John Deere tractor. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond and brother, Mikie R. Stump and sister, Pam Brown. He is survived by his wife, Peggy S. Stump; his children, Niki (Nick) Kater of Elkhart, Johnny (Crystal) Stump of Elkhart, Roger (Nga) Hershberger of South Bend, Jennifer (James Stremme) Hershberger of Elkhart; his mother Lola Stump of Mishawaka; sister, Tammy (Jim) Glaum of Elkhart and seven grandchildren. Funeral Services 11:00 Thursday February 6, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call 6-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
