Senior Master Sergeant Gary Lee Kempf, age 79, of Mishawaka passed away on October 20, 2017 at 3:28 AM in the Hospice House in South Bend. He was born January 11, 1938 to Walter D. and Mary K. (Detwiler) Kempf in Mishawaka, Indiana. After graduating from high School, Gary enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably for 22 years. Upon his retirement, he carried the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. In June of 1963, Gary married Shirley Shubert. She preceded him in death in November of 2000. Mr. Kempf worked in the Aerospace industry as a technician for many years after his retirement from the United States Air Force. Gary enjoyed woodworking. Gary is survived by his family and many friends. A private graveside service was conducted.
