Gary A. Nickerson, 67, of South Bend died on November 6, 2018 at home.  He was born on February 13, 1951 in South Bend to Fred L. and Betty L. (McKee) Nickerson.  He owned a vending business independently for many years.  Gary also worked for Stanz Food Supply and Marcos Pizza.  He took pride in his yard, creating a masterful work of art with every blade of grass or plant he chose to incorporate.  He also enjoyed playing old gospel tunes on the organ, and boy did those notes resound throughout the house. Most of all, Gary loved his family - he cherished every moment spent making his nieces and nephew laugh so hard that they cried. He dearly loved friends, as they too became family. Gary is survived by his siblings, F. Scott Nickerson of Atlanta, Jeff (Judy) Nickerson of South Bend, Sue Zimmerman of Granger; six nieces; one nephew; and a great-niece.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  In accordance with Gary's wishes, there will be a "Home" wake to celebrate his life on Sunday, November 11th at 3pm.
