Gary T. Smith, 43, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 23, 2017. He was born in Elkhart on July 31, 1973 to Gary C. and Betty J. (Rigley) Smith of Elkhart. Gary was a devout Christian who always enjoyed the chance to help others. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great nieces. Gary is survived by his parents, Gary and Betty Smith of Elkhart; his brother, Devlin Smith of Elkhart; three nephews; two nieces; and four great nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tracy Smith. A funeral service in Gary''s honor will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with visitation one hour prior to the service. Bro. Nick Thompson, a family friend, will preside over the service with burial following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Riley Children''s Hospital, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
