Gene LeRoy Meredith, 66, of South Bend, passed away at 11:23 pm, Saturday, May 29, 2010 in his home. Gene was born on December 28, 1943 in South Bend to the late Howard E. and Beulah M. (Fox) Meredith. On March 28, 1964, he married Judith Harmon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy of South Bend; three children, Bobbi Lynn Cox, Gene Alan Meredith, and Steven Lee Meredith, Sr., all of South Bend; six grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Christine, Brittany, Matthew, Steven, Jr., and Lauren; as well as six great grandchildren, Samantha, Mikel, Alyson, Danielle, Noella, and Elijah. He is also survived by two brothers, William (Janet) Meredith of Concordia, KS and Francis Meredith of South Bend. He is preceded in death by brother, Rudolf Fox and sister, Genevieve Woodrum.
Gene worked as an Expeditor for Adam Engineering. He was on the Board of Directors for Indiana Health Center. He loved to visit Lynch''s Gym and keeping his neighbors sidewalks cleaned in the winter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola with two hours of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
