Gene Messick, 93, of Elkhart, passed away on Nov. 7, 2022 at Majestic Care in Goshen.  He was born on Sept. 23, 1929 to Carl Fay and Edna Belle Messick.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Messick and Gene Messick, Jr., and his daughter, Linda (Gerry) Leinonen; as well as 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Melba, in 2012 and 3 brothers.

Gene's life revolved around working for the Lord.  He was previously a member of Osceola Church of the Brethren, but most recently, he was a member of Calvary Assembly of God.  He built houses and schools in Honduras and witnessed in the jungles of Africa.  His life was a testimony to his faith in the Lord.

A Funeral Service in his honor will be at the mausoleum at Rice Cemetery 400 James St., Elkhart, IN 46516 on Wednesday November 16, 20223 at 1 PM.  Pastor Keith McFarren will officiate.
