Obituary

Geneva Campbell Bachman, 88 of Mishawaka, died Monday January 7, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. The Providence, KY native was born September 11, 1924 to Ira T. and Fannie (Hudson) Campbell, who have preceded Geneva in death. Geneva married Harold A. Bachman on May 1, 1948. Geneva worked at Bendix during the War, then at the cafeteria in St. Joseph Hospital, Ball Band (Uniroyal) and then retired from CTS. She was a member of Albright United Methodist Church and loved music, doll collecting (including membership in a local club), sewing, crafting and exploring thrift stores. "Her love of music led to a collection of music boxes, to which her husband Harold frequently contributed. Not one summer passed without the infamous'' family picnic. It did not matter how hot it was, attendance was mandatory. We may have put up a fuss, but we always attended. Thanks, Mom." In addition to parents, Geneva was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas, lost in service to the US Navy during WWII, her sisters, Etta Jane Campbell & Winona Sprovtsoff and son-in-law, Cris Gautier. Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, Harold A. Bachman of Mishawaka; daughters, Theresa (Bud) Keeton of South Bend, Pam Bachman of Mishawaka and Lisa (Steve) Alwine of Bristol; son, Robert White of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Korrie (Tracy) Garringer of Osceola, Ryan (Becky) Keeton of South Bend, Justin Gautier of Mishawaka and Adam Gautier of South Bend. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kenneth (Kim) White, David White and Jamie (Jessica) White, all of Portland, TN and their mother, Evelyn White, also of Portland.
