Genevieve Mae (Boocher) Couch, 90, from Gaylesville, AL. Passed on to her heavenly home  on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Genevieve was born May 20, 1934 to the late Daniel F. and Grace B. (Green) Boocher.  In South Bend, IN.

Surviving are her children, Charles (Patty) Hostetler of Middlebury, Christianne (Paul) Couch of Gaylesville AL, Bradley (Michelle) Hostetler of West Plains MO, Martin Hostetler of Bristol, Daniel (Audie) Hostetler of Elkhart, Jason (Kathy) Hostetler of Milford, Ernestine (Bill) Keeley of Hokes Bluff AL, and her beloved cat BJ. She has 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest M. Couch, a son David G. Hostetler,  a grandson Glenn Hostetler, a daughter in-law Dawn Michelle Hostetler, her sister Lavon Steel, and brothers Delbert, Lester, Robert, Daniel Jr. (Boocher.)

She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend. There were times when she struggled to care for her eight children. It wasn't always easy but with spirit and determination she raised a wonderful, caring, and loving family.

She worked at various factories throughout her life. After retiring from Bayer, she moved to Alabama. She loved reading her bible, going to Church, crocheting, gardening, raising chickens, and fussing over her beloved cat. In May, for her 90th birthday, all of her children came to Alabama to surprise her. She loved being around her family. It is a memory we will all cherish, and she will be greatly missed.

Friends may visit with the family from 11-1 PM Wednesday July 10, 2024 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.  A Funeral Service will begin at 1 PM at the funeral home.  Pastor Doug Boquist with Crossroads Community Church will officiate.  Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
