George Wesley Jones Jr., 71 of Elkhart, departed this life on August 11, 2014 at 2:33am in Elkhart General Hospital. George W, Jones Jr. leaves to cherish his memories his mother Ida Mae Jones of Memphis, TN, his wife Hattie Mae Jones, son Melvin (Edwina) Jones, daughter Ruth (Ras) Williams , son Clardell Jones all of Elkhart and George W Jones III of Mishawaka, IN, daughter Christine Love of Milwaukee, WI, son John David Love Jr. of Elkhart, IN, daughters Joyce Love, and Josie Love of Indianapolis, IN, and two grandkids George and Hattie Jones raised as their own, granddaughter Latasha Echols and Jermaine Echols both of Elkhart, IN. Three sisters Sarah Jones, Rachel (Ricky) Benson of Memphis, TN, Ethel Mays of St. Louis, MO, three brothers Melvin Jones of Fort Worth, TX, Frank Jones, Franklin Jones of Memphis, TN, 55 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
His father George Wesley Jones Sr., brothers Ted and Erise Jones, grandson Tyler Love and grandparents preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Monday, August 18 2014, with one hour of visitation prior at Canaan Baptist Church, 933 Fieldhouse Ave, Elkhart, Indiana 46517. Pastor Frank Andrews will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart, IN. Arrangments have been placed under the care of Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, IN. Memorials for George may be given to the family
