George Mravec

January 19, 1931 – September 9, 2020
George Mravec Jr., 89, of Elkhart, peacefully went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 9, 2020 with his loving family by his side.
George was born to George Sr. and Anna (Sikora) Mravec in Sharon, Pennsylvania on January 19, 1931. He served our nation proudly in the Korean Conflict earning several medals, including United Nations Service Medal as well as a good conduct medal and Korean service medal with 2 Bronze stars.
On March 18,1957 he married Esther Geraldine Kelly in Deland Florida. Unto that union four children were born, Michael, Mark, Bonnie, and Lee. He was very active in their childrens lives, taking them on swimming, fishing, or outdoor adventures. He cherished quality time with all of his family.
George was an accomplished organ and piano player. He shared his talent at church. He also served as an usher as well as driving the church bus. George and Esther enjoyed daily devotionals and always had a bible open.
Cherished husband of Esther for over 63 years; loving father of Michael (Marylou) Mravec of Elkhart, Mark (Sheila) Mravec of Elkhart, Bonnie (Michael) McCavitt Jr of Elkhart, and Lee (Becky) Mravec of Goshen; grandfather of Joseph, Kristen, Crystal, Brett, Brandon, Nathan, Michelle, and Brian; great grandfather of nine; brother to Margaret Mravec of Elkhart; also surviving are cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents George Sr and Anna.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola, Indiana 46561 from 4 pm until 6 pm. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the funeral home at 10:00 am
