George James Payton, age 76, of Niles, MI passed away on May 6, 2016 at 2:10 PM at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, MI. He was born April 30, 1940 to Harry and Christina (Elwenger) Payton Sr. in New York City, NY. George owned Mishawaka American Cap. He loved golfing, playing the slots at the Blue Chip, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. George is survived by his children, Christina (Richard) Willming, Callie McDonald, Christal (Blain) Trosper, Junell (Ted) Broskey, Missy (Kenneth) Brown, Misty Metherd, and Melissa (Rocky) Zigler; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; his siblings, Fran (John) Ronsani, Maureen Henning, Joanne (Frank) Jordan, Patty Morello, and Harry Payton, Jr.; a special friend, Lisa Cheney; his Greek family in Cassopolis-The Christodoulides Family; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 10-Noon at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. There will be a funeral service in Mr. Payton''s honor at 12 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Cheney officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley cemetery.
