Geraldine B. "Gerry" Heyse, 95, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday November 10, 2020 in Elkhart.  She was born on July 19, 1925 in Streator, IL to William and Martha (Beecher) Thompson.  She married Ernest W. Heyse on August 30, 1946 in South Bend. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2003.

Gerry is survived by her daughter, Diana Stammich, her son, Ernest Heyse, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Thomas and Todd (Erin) Stammich and Lindsay Heyse; 3 great-grandchildren, Alaina, Nadia and Tommy; and a brother, William (Mary) Thompson.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Jane, Lois and Shirley.

Gerry retired from St. Joseph Hospital after 14 years in food service.  Gerry took pride in the fact that she served at the voting polls for over 50 years.  She was the #1 Fan of Jefferson Middle School and Riley  and Washington High Schools- even making sure the teams looked their best in clean uniforms.  She loved spending time with her family and looked forward to the yearly reunions with loved ones.

A Funeral Service in her honor will be on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 12 P.M. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service.
