Gertrude M. Martin, 82, of Osceola, passed away Thursday October 15, 2015 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. She was born in Browning KY on December 27, 1932 to Jack & Betres (Kirkwood) Gibbons. Gertrude graduated from Dalton High School in Kentucky and lived in the Michiana area since the early 1950''s. Gertrude met & married the love of her life, Emon Ray Martin and together they raised three children. They enjoyed traveling, particularly in the west, fishing and visiting National Parks. Gertrude loved canning & gardening but her greatest loves of all were her husband Emon Ray, her children & grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by brothers, Owen & Franklin Gibbons; sisters, Mattie Gibbons and Sarah Elizabeth (Dennis) Gentry. She is survived by Emon Ray, their son, Ricky Ray (Kay) Martin; daughters, Vickie (Marty) Roeder and Donna (Paul)Young; grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Wallace & Aaron Roeder; great-grandchildren, Colton, Dayne & Nash Wallace; brothers, Guy (Linda) Gibbons, Bobbie Joe (Debbie) Gibbons and her sister in-law, Willie Belle Gibbons. Deacon Marty Roeder will officiate funeral services at 11:00 Monday October 19, 2015 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call from 9-11am Monday in the funeral home.
