Glenn Sivert Dyrhaug, born on November 19, 1939, in St. Paul, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the age of 84. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose life was marked by his deep faith and love for his family.
Glenn is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy (Young) Dyrhaug of 58 years, his six loving children: Dawn (Pieter) Leas, Kimberly (John) Butler, Christopher, David (Jeabri), Mary (Charles) Bernardi and Adam (Lisa), 19 cherished grandchildren, nine precious great-grandchildren and his loving sister, Gayle Nielsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sivert Dyrhaug and Ethel (Gustafson) Dyrhaug; his three brothers, Gene, Wayne, and Curtis Dyrhaug; and his great-granddaughter, Amelia Kay Brooke.
As a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Glenn served his community faithfully as a stake high councilor for many years. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and his deep commitment to his family.
Professionally, Glenn built a successful career as an electrical engineer. The majority of which was spent at Honeywell, where he was respected for his expertise and dedication. Outside of work, he was an avid Chicago Bulls fan and found great joy in time spent camping, where he was able to relax, connect with nature and his loved ones.
Glenn's kindness and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of the time spent with him.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; 3415 Pleasant Plain Ave, Elkhart, IN 46517 on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Immediately following is burial and gravesite dedication at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN 46561. All are welcome.
