Obituary

Gloria "Gogi" Jean (Parsons) Neff passed away peacefully August 10, 2021 after an extended illness.  Gloria was born in Ringgold, Georgia on September 14, 1950 before moving to Elkhart, IN as a young child.

Gloria, an Elkhart High alumnus ('69), had an amazing work ethic.  Gogi worked at Ozzy's Drive-in, the Outdoor Market, Cloverdale Honey Farms and United Shade before retiring.  During this time, Gloria was also a caretaker for several loved ones throughout her life.

Gloria will be known for many things, but most importantly, she will be known for her unconditional love.  Gloria knew how to love; she loved her family and everything about being a mom, she made friends with people that didn't have many and cared deeply for them, she was quick to forgive and never held a grudge.  Gloria was always there to encourage her friends and family and to have their back.  Most importantly, Gloria loved the Lord Jesus, the true author of love.

Gogi was a great cook.  Overnight guests looked forward to her biscuits and gravy in the morning, and family reunions were not complete without her potato salad and southern dishes. Gloria loved music of all genres and accumulated an extensive record collection that included Classical, Country, Rock and Roll, Rhythm & Blues and everything in between.  Some of her favorites included Mozart, ZZ Top, Johnny Cash, Elvis, and the Beatles.  She also loved to draw and watch Bob Ross paint.

Gloria also loved the beauty and the wonder of nature, particularly the sea, and collected anything nautical.

Gloria is survived by her two sons, Matthew Neff and Joshua (Amanda Grenert) Neff, a granddaughter Alexandra Neff, her sister Joy Parsons, her brother Mark (Kristi) Penny and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death is her husband Marion Neff, her mother Betty Penny-Young, father Harvey Parsons, step-dad Charles Young, three sisters, Janet, Victoria and Denise Parsons, daughter-in-law Gail Neff, and her father and mother-in-law Frank and Ethel Neff.

Gloria will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  And while she will be remembered in many wonderful ways, all will remember her unconditional love.

Services for Gloria will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 12PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy Osceola, IN 46561.  Friends may visit from 10AM until the time of service with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Chapel Hill is honored to care for the Neff Family.
