Goldie D. "Peggy" Hummel, 74, of South Bend, died Friday September 20, 2013. The Lagrange Co. native had co-owned Tuffy Auto Service Center in South Bend with her husband, Kermit Hummel, who preceded her in death in 2006. Peggy also worked for 15 years at Michiana Auto Radiator, Inc. as Bookkeeper, Accountant and assistant to the company''s owner. She later established PH Accounting & Financial Services, retiring earlier this year. In addition to her husband, Peggy was also preceded in death by her grandson, Cameron Michael Stewart, and several brothers & sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Robin K. Stewart of South Bend; sons, Doug Hummel of Mishawaka and Michael (Barbara) Hummel of Walkerton; her granddaughter, Dannielle E. Stewart of South Bend and her sisters, Carol Fitts of Sturgis MI, Shirley Hart of Lagrange and Dorothy (Ned) Nelson, also of Lagrange. Friends may call 4-7pm Friday, September 27, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. There will be an informal "Sharing of Remembrances" service at 7:00.
