H. Wayne Roberts, 87, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Goshen General Hospital. Wayne was born on May 29, 1922 in Warsaw to the late Clifford and Laura (Plew) Roberts. On January 25, 1943, he married Josephine Kapasinski.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine, two sons, Gary (Brenda) Roberts of Gauley Bridge, WV and Allen (Connie) Roberts of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and is the last surviving of nine siblings.
Wayne proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Air Corps. He worked in the meat industry for many years before retiring for Plumrose in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion Post 143, Bristol.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, Sept 1, 2009 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
