Hattie E. Berger, 78, of South Bend, died on Friday, September 7, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Mark Tree, Arkansas, on August 28, 1940 to Goldie Oldman.  On June 19, 1966, Hattie married Thomas Berger and he survives.  Hattie enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, puzzles, game shows, and watching her favorite Soap Operas.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tom; her children, Terry (Julie) Oldman of Granger, Kim Bush of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and David Berger of Granger; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Oldman, and Cristina (Christopher) Knighton; 2 great-grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew Knighton; and her siblings, Jason Elledge, Renda Ballew, Doris Elledge, Patricia Elledge, and Reba Hummel.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Goldie and a brother, Johnny Elledge.  A funeral service in Hattie's honor will be on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 2 PM in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561 with calling 2 hours prior to the service.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  To leave an online condolence or sign the guest book, please visit www.chapelhillmemorial.com.
