Hazel Jane Meyer, 72, of Elkhart, passed away at 8:47 pm, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in Elkhart General Hospital. Hazel was born on December 4, 1937 to Ruben and Myrtle (Burk) Risner. On September 22, 1984, she married Dick Meyer.
She is survived by her husband, Dick Meyer of Elkhart, Six children, Jimmy (Linda) Keeton of Florence, AL, Brenda (Chuck) Goethals, Linda Price, Cathy Keeton, Lee Dwayne Keeton and Isaiah Meyer, all of Elkhart, 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Myrtle Risner of Wayne Co., TN, six brothers, Junior, Gean, Jody, Fay, and Carol Risner of Wayne Co., TN and James Risner of Elkhart and one sister, Karen Risner of Wayne Co., TN. She is preceded in death by two sons, Larry Keeton and Greg Eash.
Hazel worked for Elkhart Tool & Die for over 29 years before retiring in 2002. She loved gardening and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, January 10, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10076 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Monday, January 11, 2010 in the funeral home with Rev. Victor Burson officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
