Hazel F. Rocole, age 85, of South Bend, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at her home. Hazel was born July 16, 1928 in Paris, Arkansas to the late Claude and Lucille Faye (Bowers) Ming. On Dec. 10, 1945, she married Carl E. "Hap" Rocole. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Miles "Bruce") Miller of Trail Creek, IN, and Vivian (Mike) Dials of South Bend. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; Michael (Stacy) Dials, Miles Brett (Michele) Miller, Melissa (James) Lang-Ullery, Claudine (Dave) Popielski, Bradley (Bonnie) Miller, and Brandon (Kimberly) Miller. Hazel is survived as well by 16 great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. 6 siblings preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 from 2-6 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour of calling prior to the 2:00pm funeral service on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Hazel was employed for 24 years with Electrical Systems of Lakeville before her retirement in 1988. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and doing word search puzzles. She and her husband Hap loved to dance, and did until they were both unable to do so. She loved her husband and family dearly and especially enjoyed Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings with the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In her memory, donations may be given to the Center for Hospice.
