Helen Kathryn Stewart, 87, of South Bend, died on Saturday, August 8, 2018.  She was born on February 26, 1931 in South Bend to Thomas A. and Helen E. (Weisjohn) Forrester.  After graduating from Riley High School, Kathryn went on to earn her Masters Degree in Education and taught Science at Clay Middle School for 22 years.  On September 13, 1953 Kathryn married William L. Stewart and he preceded her in death.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, PSI IOTA PSI Sorority Gamma Sigma.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice and Brookdale Assisted Living for their excellent care and kindness they gave to Kathryn.  Kathryn is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Kujawski, Diane (Jim Kruk) Stewart, Susan (Rick) Fries, and Susan Stewart; five grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Ann Craymer of Grand Rapids, MI.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William; and a son, Thom Stewart.  Close family and friends will meet on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561 at 12:45 to proceed to the cemetery for a graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathryn's name to the Center for Hospice, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN  46637.
