Herman Wayne Christy, 78, of Edwardsburg, MI passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 30, 2025. Herman was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on April 4, 1947, to Fred and Leveda (Patton) Christy.

Herman truly loved his family and his Lord and Savior. Herman was a devoted member of the New Hope United Methodist Church, served as a trustee for many years, and enjoyed helping the church with repairs, mowing, handiwork, and outreach ministries.

One of the things he loved to do was riding motorcycles with his family and friends as much as possible. Herman was a motorcycle enthusiast all of his life. He was also a lifetime member of the H.O.G (Harley Owner's Group). Herman enjoyed fishing, car shows, woodworking, and finding new places to enjoy the next best ice cream. He often kept a spoon in the glovebox, saying the flimsy spoons just wouldn't cut it when it came to enjoying his favorite ice cream. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 37 years of employment. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents and his previous wife Hanby. He is now reunited with his family who preceded him and our Lord and Savior in heaven where he will be for eternity.

Herman is survived by his loving wife Donna who he married in 2018, his children Jeffery (Kelly) Christy and Jennifer (Jeramiah Buss) Christy-Grimm, Step-children; Stefanie (Joshua) Lombardi and Christopher (Christy) Banks, grandchildren; Andrew Christy, Cole and Taylor Grimm, step-grandchildren; Lauren, Madison, Skylar, and Jack, 4 great-grandchildren, his siblings; Mike (Marianne) Christy and Carolyn (Dolye) Ramsey and nephew Chad (Brandy) Ramsey.

In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 28765 Co Rd 4, Elkhart, IN 46514.

A Funeral will take place at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561 at 4pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, with Pastor Jorge Maldonado. There will be no public visitation prior to services. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
