Howard Douglas Goodman, 73, of Elkhart died Sunday March 16, 2014 at IU Health-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. The Saltville, VA native was born March 15, 1941 to William & Margaret (Roark) Goodman, both of whom have preceded him in death. Doug had retired from Traveline Industries in Elkhart and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing & hunting. He also enjoyed working in the yard, bowling, country music, reading & movies, especially westerns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Wayne "Lonzo" Goodman. Survivors include his wife, Elsie M. Goodman of Elkhart, sons, Ralph (Carol) Goodman and Christopher (Stacy) Goodman, both of Edwardsburg and William "Billy" Goodman of Vandalia; daughter, Lisa (Brian) Garner of Elkhart; brothers, William & Henry Goodman in Virginia and George Eugene Goodman in South Carolina; sisters, Pauline Bryant in South Carolina and Bessie Newton in Virginia; 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 3:00 Saturday March 22, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
