Howard Gordon MacMillan, 78, of Elkhart passed away at 5:15 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart. Howard was born on February 23, 1933, the only son of the late Howard G. and Marjorie E. (McKeon) MacMillan. On December 29, 1956, he married Cheryl Henriksen. Cheryl passed on August 31, 2005.
Howard was a graduate of Michigan State and an avid fan for life. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He worked for Miles Laboratory for many years as Director of Training and Development, before his retirement in 1995.
His is survived by five children, Catharine (Richard) Walker of Winona Lake, IN, Howard G. MacMillan, III of Elkhart, Thomas R. MacMillan of Elkhart, Michael J. MacMillan of Elkhart and Shawn T. MacMillan of Elkhart. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
There will be no services. Private burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
