Ila DeGeyter, 93, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday October 27, 2020 at home.   She was born on April 22, 1927 in Trenton, Ontario, Canada to Ralph and Ruby Brooks.  She married Ray DeGeyter.  He passed away on September 30, 2006.

She was a member of Elkhart Church of Christ.  Ila enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as being in the garden.

She is survived by a son, Mike (Rhonda) McBrier, and a daughter, Sandra (John) Thalheimer.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Brooks, and a freat-great-grandson, Sam.

A service in her honor will be at her graveside at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on Friday October 30, 2020 at 1 P.M.  Pastor Larry Sonnenberg will officiate.

Chapel Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
