Ivan Richard Asper, 90, of Winamac, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 3:30 am, Monday, April 21, 2014 in Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac. Ivan was born on September 8, 1923 in South Bend, the son of the late John Henry and Della Fay (Stayton) Asper. On February 9, 1946 he married Margaret Kedik. She passed away on October 5, 1999. Ivan is survived by three children, Linda of Mishawaka, Randy Asper of DeMotte, IN and Roy (Melody) Asper of Elkhart; four grandchildren, April, Jacob, Melanie, and Ryan; and one great grandchild, Colden. He is also survived by his good friend, Luella Bowman. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Richard and Ronald. Ivan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before his honorable discharge in 1945. He retired from the former Uniroyal. After his retirement, he was a security guard at Pierre Moran mall for several years. His hobbies included fishing and R/C Airplanes.
