Mr. Jack Daniel Byrd, 83, of Elkhart, passed away after a brief illness with his loving family by his side on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Jack was born on September 24, 1941, in Coaldale, West Virginia, to the late Ivan Lee and Mae Anna (Quesinberry) Byrd. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son David Byrd and three brothers: Garland Byrd, Donald Byrd, and Roger Byrd.

On April 6, 1959, Jack married the love of his life, Pansy (Osborn), in Midway, West Virginia. Together they shared 66 years of love and devotion. In 1959, Jack and Pansy moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where they raised their family and built a life grounded in faith and love.

Jack was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church in Bristol, Indiana. He enjoyed woodworking, playing horseshoes, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose legacy of kindness and strength will live on through those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Byrd of Elkhart; daughter, Dorinda Helvey of Elkhart; and son, Daniel Byrd of Elkhart. Jack also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14th, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Grace Baptist Church, 53980 County Road 17, Bristol, IN 46507. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon.

Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.
