Obituary

Mr. James P. Bernicky, age 76, of Old Town, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in his home. He was born November 20, 1935 in Whiting, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife Margaret R. Geist Bernicky, who he married on April 15, 1968; sons Keith Paul Bernicky, and Rodney Alan Bendit; grandchildren K.P. Bernicky, Jessie Bernicky, Alexa Bendit and Damien Bernicky; great grandchildren Austin Bernicky, Marcus Bernicky, Jayden Bernicky, and Krystin Bernicky. Also surviving are his siblings, Dorothy Hollon and Paul Bernicky. He was preceded in death by his grandson Adam Bernicky, and his siblings, Joe, Theresa, Mary Luciano, Anne Lozer, Irene Hylek, John, Harpo, Mickey and Pete.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Monday, February 27, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.
Jim graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1953. He served in the US Army, and was stationed in Korea. He was a specialist in Explosive Ordinance Disposal and earned an honorable discharge. He worked in the construction industry for 33 years before his retirement in 2003. Jim loved flowers, enjoyed gardening, and working with his hands. He enjoyed sports, and especially loved to watch football games on TV. Jim also loved to tell stories and jokes.
